Frequently Asked Questions

What varieties of animals do you have?

We have many varieties of animals, although not all of them are always available. We usually have miniature horses, miniature donkeys, zebus, calves, alpacas, llamas, lambs, goats, ducks, geese, chicks, puppies, and bunnies.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, we require a 20% deposit in order to confirm your booking and hold the date for you.

What is your cancellation policy, or what do you do in case of rain?

On the occasion that the Petting Zoo Staff have considered the weather unsuitable for the animals, two options are available, (1) we may try to reschedule for an available date that would suit both our schedule and yours or (2) the 20% deposit will be refunded in total.

What do I need to provide on location?

We would prefer a site that has untreated grass and is shaded. We also require a water source (to fill up buckets for the animals). We need to be able to park our truck and trailer close to our site for setup and cleanup, but it can be parked elsewhere during the actual event. If grass or shade is unavailable, we can bring bedding and umbrellas/canopies for the animals, but please inform us in advance.

How much space does each petting zoo need?

The small zoo, which is 5 varieties of animals, needs about 800 square feet of space. The large zoo needs about 2,000 square feet of space.

Can you come to my house?

Yes, we've done many birthday parties and other events at personal residences. Our setup can usually accommodate a small grassed front or backyard, as long as our truck and trailer can be parked close by for setup and cleanup.

Can you come to a park or community centre?

We can, as long as we have permission from the park or community centre.

When do you arrive and how long does it take you to clean up after the event?

We typically arrive about 1 hour prior to the start of your event with 2-5 people, and it takes about 1 hour to clean up afterwards. Keep in mind that it is sometimes difficult to clean up absolutely everything from grass.

What if the weather is too hot for the animals on the day of your event?

If the temperature is considered too hot for the comfort of the animals, we will need to cancel. For their safety, it is best that they stay home. If the Petting Zoo Staff deem the weather to be unsuitable, the same options are available as if there was rain.

Can I choose which animals I want in my package?

You may suggest which animals you would like, but it is not a guarantee that they will be available on the date of your event. Our animals' health and safety is always our priority, and so if an animal is not comfortable or healthy enough to be visiting a zoo that day, or the current weather is not appropriate for that type of animal, we will bring a different variety of animal instead.
